My puppy’s back! I’m so tired I feel sick but I got up in time to work on my cover letter for a job at the hospital.
My dinner last night was wonderful. Great food in the company of one of my oldest friends. We have shared…well, intimate doesn’t cover it. I met her when she was dating one of H’s closest friends. We had our first dog together, our first child together. There are other firsts I won’t go into. Her husband has been shipped to Iraq, he’s a surgeon. I don’t understand it and she doesn’t either. Well, she must but we didn’t go there. So she has moved back into her little rental house. Oh, yeah, we sold our houses together, too. She has a five-year-old boy who is going to be an amazing person, he already is. Fresh from his bath, hood over wet hair, he proudly takes us in the bathroom to show off his troops. He’s lined up his little plastic animals and people, teetering on the edge of the bathtub. God, I’m glad those days are over.

It is always nice to go back….and visit old friends…
especially when you have shared so much…good food…good company
I Like that…nothing else needed
Me, too…glad those days are over! lol
I still want a night like that. I advertised for a girlfriend recently. I just really miss the comraderie I’ve had with women friends. I get along well with the women at work, but it’s not like we visit one another’s houses. (It would be kinda hard since we work different hours. *sigh*) Fortunately, I can pour cup after cup of coffee…and sit right here and visit all the women I’ve met through Xanga (and a couple of nice guys, too). You guys are all my surrogate girlfriends! (I mean that in the most plantonic of ways…’cept for Joni, maybe. *smile*)
Yes, I’m writing after work. I put in 11 hours last night… It’s not showing, is it? hehe
Peace and Love…GFW
Good friends to experience life with is one of the bests gifts a person can have.
Hmmnn…a most wonderful dinner with an old friend, surely the very best of all. I wish all my ex’s were like that, and not just my women friends!
kenshin – a character who is a japanese swordsman at the beginning of the meiji era (when japan began opening its borders to foreigners and outlawed samuaris and sword carrying) who is seeking repentance for his sins as a killer….there are 96 tv episodes based on his and his friends, two/four movies (depends on how you count them), 28 graphic novels, and the author is a pure genius.
ps… i am jealous of you and your proximity to friends with such a history. i really miss that right now. it’s the hardest thing about the move… this isolation!
but the potential is there! and on those rare occasions you do gather, you get to begin at the middle not the beginning… i’m sick and tired of the beginnings right now!
Good food and a good friend. The perfect combination. Puppies are so much work. It’s very rewarding though. I was just not up for a puppy this time around and am thinking I got very lucky with this stray mama dog. If I raise my voice to say no, she slinks away from whatever. So far, that’s the only discipline I’ve done. She has chewed a few things up, things that were left out for the most part. I miss those puppies though. So cute and fun. So much work.
He he he those days are just beginning for me, but I hear you! RYCCCC – I fixed it so you still look cool, nobody needs to know but us. And here I was so thrilled to have 11 comments…
i’m trying to replace my on-line freinds w/real world friends…. just trying to be balanced!
I love my friends that I’ve had forever. I’ve known one of my girls since we were 3. It’s so great, because she’s been watching me all of my life, and she knows me best because she knows all of the versions of me that I’ve been over the years.
