  • Okay, now we’re getting somewhere.  Jeri seems to know.  Something about a new private page vs the old desktop.  I thought private was when no one could read it and desktop meant the kind of computer you had.  That’s how far behind I am.

And Eric says it’s possible to see who is online.  Wow, it’s just like matchmaker.

  • The “Add Stuff” thing is not a trick. Underneath that part, there’s something that says something like ‘return to my old page’ or something. I do hate the new thing, so I always revert back to the original page when it makes me change it. It’s evil, but you’ll figure it out.

  • i kind of like the new page. i can see everything quickly- like a snapshot and it’s easy to manuever once you play with it a bit. i tend to panic when i get put back into my old desktop look and can’t remember how to get to the new one! but everyone likes something different- so go with what makes you happy! :)

  • you can see who is online?! whoa…

  • You can only see who is online if they have their site set to allow it. You CAN turn it off on your site.

I’m still resisting the new stuff. Partly because it’s simpler, partly because I’m an old stick-in-the-mud. Oh well.

  • Uh oh, everybody seems to know about these new changes, I just zip on by that new front page and back to my old stuff as quick as possible.

Anyway–stopped by to say I hope the big market rush did good things for your portfolio today!  (and don’t be thinking I have a CLUE what any of that means, I am market clueless, other than knowing it went up faster than it has in five years today).

  • I am behind too:)

  • Seeing who is online seems a) completely unhelpful and b) creepy.

  • It is cool that they let you opt out of all the new changes. Some of them are harmless, but there are some that are very off putting IMO.

If you go to privacy settings you can turn off the online notification thing too. I did. I do that everywhere they will allow it.

  • Thank you.

The comment previous to yours wasn’t as kind. He found his way to my page from yours, and I checked to see whether or not he had anything to say to you. He’s an odd character, in my experience, but I’ve always sort of liked him . . .
