The second guy, the one I don’t like as much, took me to see graffiti art on the trains at the switching station. We had lots of fun walking the tracks, taking pictures of our favorites. I was so surprised when he suggested it because it’s something I love, too. But the best part was when the cops came. A train went by and tooted at us but what they also did was call the cops, who escorted us out of the yard. They told the police that a couple kids were running on the tracks.
Last night I was at the blues bar, sitting with my new friend, who I’ll call Ian. Turns out he is a friend and the next door neighbor of my brothers closest friend. Ian is going through a divorce and ten years younger but he reminds me so much of the married man that I can’t help myself. And he’s really quick with a dry sense of humor. SO fun to be with. Plus, he loves to dance. His wife is having her third affair only this one she wants to marry. I’m trying to figure out what to do with him, and it’s making me nervous because I can’t think of one good reason not to go for it.
On a more reasonable note, I rearranged my bedroom. What I should be doing is painting it, but I want to wait until I can sleep in the room my daughter and her boyfriend are in. And I want it to be warm enough that I can keep the windows open. I expected it to look better with less furniture, but I was disappointed. I had the kids move the vanity into their room. Even though the furniture fits in the room better now, it looks less comfortable. But I’m going to bring up my daughter’s trunk, which Henry and I bought in our late 20s, and put it where the vanity was, under the window, and lay the summer quilt on it. That should soften the look up a bit.

I hope that some day I can be lucky enough to be described as a kid playing on the tracks . . .
Sounds like you’ve found some new adventures. Enjoy . . .
Wow that sounds like it was some date you had…Congratulations! “Isn’t this a wonderful time to be a girl!”
As far as “Ian”.well if you cannot think of one good reasons…then you go for it girl. I can tell Spring is in the air and you are already blooming. I can hardly wait to get out my summer quilt. Enjoy yourself!…there are soooooooo many people out there afraid to take chances afraid to open their hearts and have fun…you my friend are an example of a modern true feminine soul; a woman daring to live, to thrive, to get out and bless the world with your energy and beautiful spirit!
I had a sleep over this weekend.his name is Damion…I made up the futon for him. We had a great evening went to a art-opening and then to hear a band at the Alley, and then came back to my house because he lived way up on the mountain. He is an graphic artist and writer….awsome, talented, 7 years younger, long blond hair with nice little goat…the only reason I could come up with is that I already have too much on my plate…but I can always use a good friend.
You want to know what was soooooooooo nice about the whole thing? The comfort of having a man sleeping under the same roof again. Sunday I got up my dog crawled in bed with D and I ran to the market, returned home and made a big southern breakfast with coffee. We sat at my breakfast nook talked for hours. He folded up his balnkets, turned up the futon and placed everthing back the way it was, and then left me a surprise letter thanking me for a wonderful time. I found it yesterday. That was soooooooo sweet. I love men and what they bring to the table. I love their masculine energy, the way they think, the way they hug, the way they give. hmm…yes! to men!
Hugs my dear friend,
Ashes
More funky fabrics and lots of light.
My best friend from college just got out of a long relationship and is having fun discovering herself, regaining her confidence, and meeting interesting and more sensually-compatible people. She was worried I’d be mad at her for moving so quickly, but I’ve told her I’m proud of her for being happy and listening to herself. She can usually talk her way into or out of anything, but it’s truth flowing out of her now. I hope the same is true for you. Follow your heart and your gut
Sound like you have two good projects:)
Oh the train tracking sounds like fun. And Ian sounds . . . funner.
This is good to read.
I bet once you have it painted the room will look very different too.
Sounds like you’re a bit unsettled (stocks, men, bedroom)–but sometimes that’s good! You’re thinking about several different areas and figuring out what YOU wan t. Thinking is good. Getting knocked out of our ruts is often good.
I need to rearrange the bedroom too.
Sounds like fun playing on the tracks
Take pictures when you get the room done-especially in the sunlight! Sounds like you had a great time!
Isn’t that a great feeling?… The feeling of two kids running along the tracks, enjoying each other’s company!
