At the library, trying to type on an ergonomically correct keyboard, in the time I have allotted. HELP. Dish Network can’t come until Mon so still no tv or computer. But that leaves me with the book. Good progress there. I went to another fab class last night: spring tonics to cleanse the liver. The woman runs an herbal school on her farm out in Yamhill County. I think it’s a 30-minute drive but unlike the school here in town, it’s live. The other one was on-line.
I’m going to use her talk as the basis for my next article. I was looking to see if I’d already done something on detoxing the liver — I guess, as with all the traditions, spring is the time when the focus is on the liver. The plants that are good for this all grow in the spring. The trinity is dandelion, burdock, and yellow dock and you can do a tincture or a tea or both.
The woman looked like hell but she sure knew her stuff. Plus she teaches with a botanist and they have it all growing on their farm.
Emily, you are the only big tea drinker I know of here. I will share with you a great recipe she gave us. No time now, though. But you may like this poem I found in my files.
Beloved Lord, Almighty God
aside from whom there is nothing else,
please help us to love thee more.
Teach us that the sole purpose of love is beauty.
Bring us to know thee as thou art
and help us to find thee in the one place
that is big enough to contain thee:
the heart of the perfect woman.

I love brewed tea leaves, none of that tea bag crap. Then a bag of sugar, and not the tiny packets, no sir, I’m talking at least 1/2 cup to one full cup per pitcher. Us, brewed sweetened tea, Southeners are all gonna die happy. I hope that isn’t too much for you to bear. I’m thinking of the cream gravy incident.
Prudy, I hope your computer is fixed soon – I miss your wonderful comments.
Ergonomics is another suspect advertising buzzword. It wouldn’t surprise me if that keyboard was also labeled: “0 Carbs! No Transfats!”
I’m pretty sure my keyboard doesn’t have transfats either, but it is a kinda old model. I should check. I work in two offices every day (although with the network down, I’m about to go talk to my afternoon boss and say, “Hey, my job depends on these e-mails that I can’t read. Let me go home so I can drive to Cleveland in the snow.”). My morning keyboard is normal, and my afternoon keyboard is an ergonomic one my predecessor brought from home because they neglect us in the afternoon office. It took me a few days to get used to, but learning how to type “correctly” in keyboarding class in eighth grade was surprisingly effective for me and has helped me grow accustomed to the ergonomics. They don’t bother me at all. I look forward to the tea recipe. I’ve been lazy about tea-ing lately, though I was doing very well for about a month there. Tonight and this weekend, I will be with a dear couple of friends who love tea more than I do, so I will paw Amanda (aliashope) until she gives me some. We’re having an Arthurian-legend-themed movie marathon tomorrow, I believe, and that will be the perfect time for tea (and/or alcohol).
I won’t post until Sunday or Monday, and I’ll miss you. Have a great weekend! (And forgive the ginormous comment. I’m obviously not sorry enough to rescind it, but I’ve noticed that I’ve left really really long comments on cool people’s sites this morning. You’re special, but you’re not alone
).
We sure get spoiled quickly when it comes to gadgets. When I’m at my mom’s for some reason I can’t email from my Yahoo account, have had to open an entirely separate account at Hotmail…love your posts…Go liver cleanse!!!!!!!!!marilyn
jonjake2 needs a word of encouragement. Any kindness is appreciated. THank you, a random commentor
Your post reminded me of my pilates class last night. A crew from work & I went to one last night & EVERY part of my body feels it today. I definitely recommend it
I’m sending much in the way of sympathy for your computre and tv situation. I go a bit crazy when I’m cut off like that. This week I couldn’t make it around myself much. Parent teacher conferences, internship things, and grad class, and work ate my time away. Hope everything gets back to better than normal soon.
